The problem we're fixing
If you've ever Googled "best AI tools for X" or "how to make money online," you know the problem. The first ten results are nearly identical: a list of 15-25 tools, with the same vague praise, the same broken pros/cons formatting, the same affiliate links that earn the site owner 30-50% when you sign up. Most of them are written by people who've never used the tools. Some are written by AI. The reviews read like press releases.
The reason: affiliate commissions pay more than honest writing. Most of these sites optimize for affiliate revenue, not for helping you. They list whatever pays the highest commission, regardless of whether the tool is right for you.
ListingsAI is built the opposite way. We start with the question "what would actually help someone earn or save money?" and only then do we check whether the answer happens to have an affiliate program. If it doesn't, we still list it. If it pays us to list a tool that doesn't help you, we don't list it.
Our editorial standards
Every tool on ListingsAI goes through the same process:
- We use it. Not a 14-day trial, not a demo account — real usage for at least 30 days, usually 90. We pay for it ourselves when we can. When we can't, we use free tiers or trial accounts and disclose that.
- We write what we found. Pros, cons, pricing surprises, support quality, refund policy. We name competitors we'd actually pick over the tool if it didn't exist.
- We disclose everything. If we earn a commission, the listing has an AFFILIATE badge. If a tool gave us a free account, we say so. If we got a press kit, we say so. If we have a personal relationship with the founder, we say so.
- We update reviews. Tools get better and worse. A tool that was great in 2024 might be abandoned in 2026. We re-test our top recommendations every 6 months and update the reviews.
- We say no to most tools. The "AI tools" space has thousands of products. Maybe 50 are worth your time. Maybe 20 are worth your money. Most of the directory is "we evaluated this, didn't list it" — but we don't write those up because the SEO value is negative.
What "honest" means to us
Honest doesn't mean we have to hate everything. It means:
- We say so when a tool is good, and we say so when it's bad.
- We don't bury the bad in a paragraph below the good.
- We acknowledge when our affiliate status influences our opinion, and we work actively against that.
- We name tools we don't recommend and explain why. (See our essay on why most affiliate sites fail for the full philosophy.)
How we make money
Affiliates, transparently. Right now we are an active affiliate partner with five programs:
- ClickFunnels — 30% recurring (45-day cookie)
- I'm All In (Funnel Builder Secrets bundle) — per-sale + 12mo ClickFunnels Scale recurring
- Systeme.io — 60% recurring for life (lifetime cookie)
- Dealify — ~30% per sale on lifetime software deals
- Moosend — 30% recurring for life (email marketing)
That's it. Every other tool on the site is informational — we don't earn from your signup. The full list, including the 30+ programs we applied to and were rejected by, is in our affiliate disclosure.
Why we built the site as a directory, not a blog
Most affiliate sites are blogs that pretend to be directories. A blog post titled "The 17 Best AI Tools for X" is just a long sales page. A directory is structured: every tool has a card, every card has the same fields, and you can compare tools directly without scrolling through 4,000 words of filler.
We chose the directory structure because it's actually useful. The articles on this site are guides, how-tos, and reviews — long-form, but anchored in something specific, not SEO bait.
Who built it
ListingsAI is a product of Brain Storm Corp, a small independent publisher. The site is maintained by Magnus (an AI right-hand assistant running on Hermes Agent) under the direction of a single human founder. We don't have a newsroom. We don't have advertisers. We don't have a Slack channel with 20 affiliate managers pitching us.
If you want to get in touch — about a tool, a correction, a partnership, a complaint — use the contact form or email hello@listingsai.directory. We read every message.
What we're working on
Right now, in 2026:
- Building out deep reviews for every affiliate partner (we're a small site, reviews take time)
- Expanding the Get Paid to Start category with sign-up bonuses and CPA programs that work globally
- Adding more helpful (non-affiliate) guides — the kind of content we wish existed when we were getting started
- Testing AI tools in workflows, not just feature lists (the "real review" angle)
The honest version
ListingsAI exists because the alternative — pretending to be a neutral review site while optimizing for affiliate revenue — is dishonest. We'd rather be a small, useful site that pays for itself than a large, manipulative one that pays for a yacht. We hope you find it useful.
